A note from our founder

Built by and for event operators

I began this journey over ten years ago when I took over Magic Box Event Center in Los Angeles, an event venue with a great foundation but unrealized potential. Early on, I recognized that scaling the business required specialized tools — ones that would allow my team to work more efficiently, while also giving us the systems to turn our venue from simply a space rental into an operation with multiple revenue streams. At the time, there were no softwares built specifically for event venues. So we built our own. 

Through the experience we learned all the things a venue could do to build a better business: sell tickets and booths, manage internal rental inventory, self-produce events. When I started seeing revenue potential in all these components — rather than in just charging for space rental — Magic Box’s business accelerated. We went from generating hundreds of thousands of dollars a year to the multi-millions. 

ShoSoft is the outcome of this experience — it brings everything we learned about transforming a venue operation into one platform. It’s the tool that enabled us to scale Magic Box, and will also empower other venue operators to do the same. Every feature is built with the goal of helping venues maximize revenue and increase efficiency.
