Managing Events
Event Calendar
Create, edit, and manage events on your calendar.
How do I create an event?
Creating an event in ShoSoft takes two clicks — you can fill in everything else later.
Steps
From the Dashboard, Calendar or Event List, click Create Event.
Enter the event name and date(s) — that’s all that’s required to save.
Click Create Event. Your event is now live on the calendar.
Add the rest as you go: client, spaces, inventory, workforce, and tasks.
Good to know: Your event will be considered “On Hold” until you assign it to a space.
How do I edit an event?
Steps
Open the event from the Calendar or Event List.
Select the field you want to update — name, dates, status, or any other detail.
No save button — updates save as you go.
Good to know: Most event details can be edited at any time. The exception is invoices — once created, they’re fixed snapshots and can’t be edited directly.
What do event statuses mean?
Every event in ShoSoft carries one of six statuses:
On Hold — tentatively scheduled. An event is considered “On Hold” after it’s initially created. Assign it a space to confirm it.
Confirmed — booked and happening.
Canceled — cancelled after being booked.
Completed — the event has happened but hasn’t been fully paid out yet.
Closed — the event has happened and is fully paid out.
Released — a date that was previously held but is now available again.
Good to know: Use the filters on your Calendar or Events List to control which events show up.
How do I find an event that isn’t showing up on my calendar?
If an event isn’t showing up where you expect, it’s almost always a filter or access issue — not a missing event.
Steps
Open the Calendar and check your status filters — events outside the selected statuses won’t show.
Confirm your date range includes the event’s dates.
Check that you have permission to view that event — access depends on your role and event scope.
